Artist's Comments

Mt Yarrowyck is a little west of Armidale, NSW Australia.

Its a granite mountain which has a sacred Aboriginal site. About 2 km along the walking track underneath a rock overhang are these paintings of circles, bird feet and lines. They are estimated to be a few hundred years old.

The meaning of the symbols has been lost but its thought that the bird feet represent the Plains Turkey, the Bustard.

The red ochres are made from powdered rock and painted on by finger.

That is pretty darn cool. Looks like an awesome place!

It is a fine thing to establish one\'s own religion in one\'s heart, not to be dependent on tradition and second-hand ideals. Life will seem to you, later, not a lesser, but a greater thing.

Thanks, it was awesome.
Reminds you how tough it must have been to survive in the wild.

I could imagine Barbarana jumping from rock to rock scaring away the bad demons.

Thank you, pretty much what I have imagined her doing ;)
