This is a CD cover (opened out).
It was made for a piece of music written by mr mark dollin. :iconmarkdollin:
The music was to be a gift to newly married friends.
I designed the cover to mirror the music and to explore the meaning of friendship, relationships and love.
The busyness on the left represents us as single people, doing our own thing in life. These activities and interests and feelings for each other start to merge as relationships form. The movement and melding of these shapes reflect that almost state of one.
The gold ring represents the binding of that relationship.

You've used some amazing and striking colors for this. It's amazing. I love that it's painted on the silk. The colors blend together beautifully in many different places.

Omg, that is more precious than any gold ring -that couple is unbelievably lucky to have gotten this masterpiece. I love the colours and the patterns and the brilliant symbolism you wove into this.

Actually they didn't get it.
They got married and the gift was a bit late, Mark hadn't finished the piece of music. Unfortunately the friendship went south for unknown reasons. So they never got Mark's beautiful music, nor the cover for the cd. Shame.
I hope Mark will finish the music one day. Its very special.

Glad you like this one Jen. This one did take a lot of thought and effort.

Oh, that is a shame... but I guess the works will find their way to someone eventually who appreciates and deserves them, perhaps when Scott gets married? ;]

I'm sure over time Mark will come back to it. He has a new love in his life, so maybe new inspirations will come from that.
Not sure Scott would appreciate it. My sons are very different. Not at all alike.
But a nice idea just the same.

Well, I don't think my brother and I could be more different either... Artwork also has a habit of finding its way to the right owner, without telling us first.
