The concept was to explore the similarities between the construction of fabric and the geological processes that shape the earths crust.
Sedimentary and metamorphic rock is warped and folded by strong tectonic forces and heat to form patterns which almost resemble woven cloth. I find it amazing that rock can be manipulated like the threads of a cloth. I don't have any of my own photographs of this type of geology but check out this photographer (Utah, USA) who has captured what I am trying to convey with textiles.
