Primordial Pond

This piece represents the pond from which life emerged, according to evolutionary theory. The blue rings are the watery puddles, the beads are the single cell creatures or larvae and the red is the mature life form fleeing the pond to colonize the land.
This belongs to a larger body of work based on the theme, From the Earth.
I tried a spontaneous approach to creating this work. No planning or forethought. I just played with the fibres until an idea and pattern developed. An unusual method for me. Eldub inspired me to try this technique.
